I have been a bad blogger

I have been a bad blogger.  I have been spending most of my time at my photo blog and not posting much here

I will try to do better.

these are some scrapbook layouts I did in close to my heart's Studio J.

Pretty easy to use and not bad pricing.

I may change this blog up a little and use it for a multipurpose blog.  contests, notificaton of other blog candy.  still haven't decided yet.  I still want a place to show art bugt want to keep the photo blog mainly a photo blog.

christmas in the summer

did this for a card club class.

I bought the stamp at the urging of my husband while in Vegas at the viva las vegas store.  he loves Santa's.  simply stamped added a little color to his cheeks.  sponged the outside then added the holly leaves on this card I punched little red circles for the berries but on another card I used stickle paint and really liked that. I also added a greeting on on ther sample. On this sample which you can't see well I added some liquid glass on the glasses.

aquarium room card

This card will fold down to mail and was a royal pain the rear to make. First I had troubles with the glossy paper making the stamped images look faded after only one day. getting them to stand up was a challenge

i liked adding the clear acetate to the front.

but in the end I like how it turned out

little fishies

one of my favorite cards as of late. Done for a mini virtual stamp night on split coast stampers. The challenge was 1) kissing technique running the edge of the stamp in a stamp pad or use a marker to edge it with. 2) S curve tried to do a couple here 4) PINK gads not my favorite color but I think I like the fish in pink got me out of always doing them in yellow and orange.

All stamps are Stamp in the hand, technique is direct to glossy paper and some stippling. I love this technique fought to me by Joyce hazen that use to demo for stamp in the hand. She was SOOOO good at this

old teaches young

My favorite shot is the one where Duncan (pup) is sitting under the chin of Storm (older dog) this was taken not long before we had to put storm down. I think Duncan knew that it was a bad day for Storm he stuck by his side the whole day and didn't run around like a wild thing like he normally does.

hearts galore

Did this at a stampin up class with Sharon my favorite stampin up demo. this simple but beautiful card was a big hit with us. The background is big shotted (embossing folder) the red heart is from a sizelet ( I know I spelled that wrong) a must have if you like hearts, and the next heart is stamped on white with a heart set that currently has $2.00 going to the red cross for Haiti, and then was punched out with the heart punch. roller wheeled the words punched the scallops on the bottom and added some ribbon. oh wait also a small glitter heart punched out with their new heart punch that stores oh so nice.

snowboarder

this is NOT what I would call a very good card but I was doing a challenge for the VSN mini night a while back the theme was to do something that represented a flag color I chose Poland red and white since that is my heritage but then I added the black so that is more like Trinidad.

If in need of some inspiration, challenge or some stamping friends check out www.splitcoaststampers.com

Duncan and the old man

by now you have realized that I did some scrap booking lately and I have scheduled out some of the pages so that they are spread out along with some cards (hopefully) One of the batches of photos I had was of our newest westie (well 2006 he was new) and some of our "old man" storm he is 17 in these pictures and was put down September 11, 2006 sadly. He will live in our hearts forever.

But the new little guy "storm" is working out pretty good I have to say.
