same old news

Sorry to say no new cards and I have run out of preloaded blog posts so for today you get a few pictures well the pictures are the reason for no new posts I haven't crafted in 10 days at least because of the snow. constantly coming, 48 inches in 10 days and what did I do? shovel shovel shovel.

My trusty friend for the last few days.

This is the view from my window as of Saturday.

the dog was none to happy to be out in this.
I did like this shot of the court house taken from my daily trip to city hall

So from our house to yours I hope everyone has been enjoying family and friends. This is my husband and son on christmas day.

Birds and bleach

I am again loving this little mister I got. Our monthly technique and last technique challenge was bleach. I usually use my favorite stencil from dreamweaver of trees but everyone has seen that so I tried harder to challenge myself and used a stencil I hadn't used before (go figure not used but in my stuff that never happens right?) Well I like what turned out.

The crane is by judikins and the saying by Penny Black. Can you see the cranes in the background? kind of like a MC ESCHER drawing.

A little bit closer view of the cranes

Still can't see him ok for sure you can see the crane now.

Frogs and bleach

Hope everyone had a great Christmas holiday and are out checking out any good deals on the day after always a fun thing to do. I unfortunately will be working (yes I did this up early and had it set to post today)

I loved how this turned out. I was playing with a new little toy a small mini mister by inspired crafts and I really like how it works. A little bleach into it and some stencils and I was having fun. The background stencil is by dreamweaver and is a Lily pad. so I added a couple of TAC frogs to it and pop dotted them. then a saying from TAC as well.

Quick and easy card but fun.

Merry chrismtas

One of my cards for the season. the stamps are from make an impression in Issaquah, Washington. sadly the brick and morter store will be closing in january. I thought they would be less work but hehe all that coloring didn't make it that easy. I did use some of gina k's copic pens that give sparkle on the paper that isn't picked up from the camera very well.

christmas cards

As Christmas is just around the corner I thought I would post a few of the handmade cards and the card I made over the next few days. This will give me a little more time to spend on other things that need my attention and still have a post. But more then that also thank those that sent a handmade card. this year has been a long year and I didn't get out as many cards as I wanted to and talking with friends they had the same problem but I hope everyone I knows that I think of them and wish them a happy season and a joyous new year.

so here are a few to start you off

From Peggy

From Pat

From Yara

white christmas

No worries about that here. We will have one and then some.

Its been a long winter already and we are barely there.

The dog had to have a path to go out. he really doesn't like the cold and wet

the smartest birds flew south for the winter and a good thing for their bath is full

And with that I leave you with this thought:

The streets are finally starting to clear
but what do I hear
more snow on the way
for Christmas day

our backs are in pain
and we complain
but what does one do when its done
pack our bags and head for the sun

The skiers are waxing their gear
in hopes of not landing on their rear
kids are bundled and yelling out their calls
gliding down hills and tossing snowballs

the plows are running day and night
worried shoppers hope their gifts are right
packages are wrapped and sent
cookies are baked and much money is spent

but remember the reason
for the season
Happy birthday dear Jesus
and god bless

Darn her now I will have to buy that silly punch that I have been avoiding because I never thought I would some up with an idea for it.

My absolute favorite month. I love this style stamping. the background is done with pastels and then stamped and embossed. the cattails are another clever idea a small punch. yep had to have that one too.

snow, snow, snow

Snow came to the pacific northwest with a vengeance today and yesterday. 24 inches was our last count. we shoveled and shoveled and shoveled a bit more it never seems to end. It has quit for now but they say more is coming.

The poor birds will never find that bird bath.

Running out of places to put the snow.

Our street. pretty much impassable unless you have a big 4 x 4 and even those were getting stuck, we had to dig out a couple people.

backyard fun. Those trees have to have the snow knocked off them several times fun fun.

And lastly Duncan says this is not fun don't expect me to spend much time out here and make sure you keep this shoveled too so I can go please.

christmas scrapbooking

Recently went to my CTMH demonstrator's house for my monthly scrapbooking class and did these awesome pages. I absolutely love this stained class paper.

lots of little brads and some bling bring these little tag stickers to life.

At first I was like how dumb is this. then I thought dang that button with some brads in it reminds me of holly. brilliant idea.

This is a clever idea. you take a pocket page and with some4 x 12 paper folded in half you put half in and half out. then you take another pocket page and cut it up so you have a pocket. taking care to only have one hole exposed and you don't cut into the other sides. great idea for those events that have lots of pictures. Here is a close up. and for more information on how do this check out your ctmh demo's webpage and the art and soul section
