snowman book

went to my Penguin Pants rubber stamps demo's home today and made this awesome scatch board book. All products and stamps used are Penguin Pants products. we had such fun.

First we covered the scratch board with blue chalk ink then stamped into it with brown. then heat set it so we didn't get it everywhere. then scratch scratch away with a little etching tool to reveal the white under it. to add color from there we used markers, pencils, ink applied with a brush.

The front I put the snowman and the back the house

Inside we made accordion type pages to add pictures or whatever to later.

Just love these stamps and now have 2 new sets cheers and feathered friends can't wait to make some new stuff.

Fluttering into March

Are you totally tired of polished stone yet?? well I just had to do this for my March calendar pages I love this technique. All stamps are stampin up! stamped in black stayzon.

I used glossy paper, hunter, sage stampin up re-inkers, gold color box, tissues and rubbing alcohol. calendar page adhered using clear photo corners.

The words are stamped with stayzon onto vellum and then adhered with brads.

Put on your dancing shoes and listen to the music

Just a few atc's the first one I just finished. The girl is a photo stamp that I stamped on glossy and cut out the background of. printed out some dance names and added a Je t'aime stamp by magenta. The background is stippled to make it looks like a spotlight.

just a shoe i think its by rubber necker it was an unmounted that I didn't have a name on.

I just love these little shoes by Karen Lockhart. She has some very cute stuff and some funny stuff like this "italian shoes"

Lastly is another favorite stamp of mine only because my hubby plays guitar and this reminds me of him. Its another unmounted and I was trying to remember what company it was from and I want to say ala art stamps but I am not sure if they are still in the business or not.

hangin with the chicks

I love polished stone its so much fun and so addictive. Here is another piece I did. stampin up inks more mustard, barely banana and carmel on glossy paper.

The stamps are by Penguin Pants Rubber stamps

Looks better in real life but I used the scanner instead of the camera to get a shot of it.

lunar Eclipse

No stamping tonight we spent the evening outside watching the eclipse so thought I would share a few of the shots with you here. So exciting no matter how many times you see it. It was a cold night and finding a spot in town that wasn't to bright yet close to home because of having to work till almost eclipse time.

The above is the moon fully eclipsed.

This last photo was taken at about 8 seconds so that the two planets could be visible in the shot.

All shots were taken with a Sony A100, on a tripod, at about f11 or F16, ranged from 60th of sec to 8 seconds, with 400 iso. Mostly a learning experience for me. I would love to have a bigger lens someday to get real close. oh well always 2010.

Art around you

Something a bit different this time. This is a set of cork frames that I made from leftover corks, no not my wine but others. I simply cut in half and then glued to the glass of a picture frame. I used tub and tile chalk to adhere them. that stuff is great for heavy duty adhesives and it fills up air pockets nicely.

Next an Atc...

I did for the theme of dancing. the background is stippled and then added a few printed out dance themes. stamped a magenta Jet'aime on it as well the lady is part of a photo stamp shown below on a card that I cut out and pop dotted on there.

Ain't she pretty???

I just love this stamp. this is a card thats a few years old. I did it for a bridal shower.
FINALLY:

Last thing for tonight is a request to visit a friends blog. She is an artist and daughter of a stamper Analia's blog

Polished stone

Love this technique.

Used Stampin up glossy, didn't have any cotton balls so used tissues. Got wet with some rubbing alchol no tequila for this one. put a couple drops of classic ink hunter and sage then some color box gold on the tissue then started dabbing all over. cover as much as possible but leave a little white too. You can really try new things with it.

Put gold colorbox stamped leaves in background and black to give it contrast.

Its SPRING, well at least on my scrap pages

I am in a swap for 6 x 6 pages witht he theme of spring. This is what I came up with. all stamps are Stampin up. the ribbon is a paper ribbon that I FOUND while cleaning my ribbon tote out. I love that big yellow flower and just had to make another set to match it so I did basically the same with some color variation below. which I just now noticed one is turned the wrong way oops

So even though its still gray and tons of snow still on the ground I have a bit of sunshine.

Free Style stamping

Hmm first off sorry thats a bit off its tilt but I didn't photograph it just scan it. But I am to lazy to go fix it.

At our stamp club we did a little free style stamping. something we don't normally do. My awesome stampin up demo Sharon gave us some craft cards, her felted box of goodies, brads, some paper scraps and punches and some treasured rub-ons.

Now I am NOT a fan of the rub-ons but this turned out pretty cute with the little felted flower with it. just a cute note card and I could see the little felt flowers being addictive. Though I think I might hoard them to much if I were to buy them.
edited to add: I was asked why I don't like rub ons. I guess they are ok but I tend to hoard things that I may not have a lot of and I would hate to use them. I guess I just think too that you can use stamps just as easily and they never run out.

animal cuties

this is one of a dozen cards I made for a swap. still not happy with it. think it needs some brads or something. and I see I need to do a little touch up with the markers as well funny how a scan always brings that out.

Stamps are by Gina K

simply done with markers on the giraffe and stamped in gray for the elephant. red on the words but they almost look purple in the scan. should have taken a picture but to lazy. been down a bit with siatic nerver problems. hmm why is the spell check not working. grrrrr

I love my stampin up demonstrator - valentine workshop

Went the most awesome workshop by my stampin up demonstrator Sharon. http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/sharonstamps/

I tell you she keeps my pocketbook empty and full of ideas. If it weren't for her I probably would not still stamping 11 years after I started, what with stamp stores closing left and right we need to keep getting fresh ideas and lots of hands on.

We did 3 note cards. cute cute cute

A sucker holder. Ok I can't do bows AT ALL I admit it.

This was a cute idea for a treat holder from acetate square. clever clever

and a kisses holder
Lastly the cute cute mailbox that I didn't do exactly how she did but close. Cute way to show off their paper. now I know where all of our target mail boxes went to.

Just want to say thanks to sharon and all you stampin up demonstrators and other stamp companies for keeping us stocked full of ideas.

sweet 16

My Niece is turning 16 next month and throwing a big party. she wanted some invites in pink silver and black. So she came over last night and this is our prototype. Used 2 different sets of stampin up stamps and one from ctmh. The flower is from Delight in life and the background is from Baroque Motif.

Stamped in black on the pink, its really a lot pinker looking in real life. Stamped on silver paper with black the flower (120 of them) Cut out all the flowers (he he had her and grandma doing that part) once assembled I pop dotted one of the flowers and added iciles to the flowers they look like little jewels in real life. Then stamped the words out in silver encore.

for the invite person we will be putting vellum imprinted from the computer and tie it on with a bow either silver or pink organza whichever we can find.

she was very excited about doing this and talked all night long. LOL I don't have any girl children only a boy about to graduate high school so that was COMPLETELY different for me. I think my husband left the room about 1/2 into the whole thing.

ginko leaves atc

Did this for a leave atc exchange. Pretty simple. Punched out a ginko leave and then used the paper that was left from the punch as a stencil. daubed black and gold ink on the red. added some squigglies from a stamp by rubber stamp tapestry. (I love their little peg stamps) then used my gold pad and went around the red. then layered on black.

it needed a little something so added the paperclip and 2 oval punches with a stampin up stamp on it.

addresses needed - and overload cry

I have been swamped with work and on overload. to tired to stamp and I have a ton of swaps to do. So what do I do play pogo games instead, they don't take much thought usually and take my mind off other things.

I will hopefully have new artwork up tonight.

untill then I need to hear from jennifer and mindy from my "Pay it Forward" blog so I can gather up a prize for you.

email me at stampmouse@comcast.net or stampmouse@gmail.com

thanks for playing now back to your regularly scheduled program

Heart Attack atc

As a joke I made this atc. I was trying to come up with ideas for some previously posted valentine cards and my husband says. why not do hearts attacking. hmm so I thought ok great atc.

Heart is by ctmh drew out the words and the legs, arms and swords on the hearts. hehe the reason I stamp is becuase I can't draw. The grass is an old stampin stamp.

Then I got to thinking. you know Heart Attacks in woman are very common in women and many times misdiagnosed. so hoping to promote a little awarness with this.

here are a few good sites to check out:
