lunar Eclipse

No stamping tonight we spent the evening outside watching the eclipse so thought I would share a few of the shots with you here. So exciting no matter how many times you see it. It was a cold night and finding a spot in town that wasn't to bright yet close to home because of having to work till almost eclipse time.

The above is the moon fully eclipsed.

This last photo was taken at about 8 seconds so that the two planets could be visible in the shot.

All shots were taken with a Sony A100, on a tripod, at about f11 or F16, ranged from 60th of sec to 8 seconds, with 400 iso. Mostly a learning experience for me. I would love to have a bigger lens someday to get real close. oh well always 2010.

These are fabulous! It was too cloudy in Colorado to see it. We'll have to wait until 2010. Thank you for sharing.

Great photos! We enjoyed watching the eclispe too, but due to the advantageous placing of our windows, we were able to see it from a warm vantage point!

Thanks for sharing the photo - they're excellent!. I did see a bit of the eclipse in MN - not too cloudy - but didn't take photos.
