inspiration tuesday

well since I liked the first set of quilts I used for inspiration I thought I would post a few more Tuesday with ideas of where and how to get inspired. Its all around us you just need to open your eyes.

This first quilt is partially painted and partially done with layers of color. they come together beautifully and show you details. hmm there is that word again, seem to use it a lot.

I loved the shapes of these stars and all the different colors used in this mainly purple quilt.

lastly the blue quilt. look at all the shading going on. in life its not about one color but a BLEND of things be it color or textures. life is a blend no two ways about it
I hope you are enjoying the inspiration tuesdays I hope to put a few more up

take my breath away

Did this for a calendar swap (hmm hope they don't read my blog I haven't mailed it yet) anyhow I had the month of march so did this the lady blowing wind and the little whiptedo thing are by stampscapes. the words are a clear stamps found at Joannes. back ground is first brayered in a light blue then sponged using the scallop punch slightly added the lady in a darker shade and the whiptedo's. then in black the words. lastly added more color around the edges.

close up of the lady

And lastly a close up of the words. thought this would be great for a "March" wind

horse

I love this stamp. went over to a friends and stamped and Friday and she had this stamps from make an impression and it was perfect for the technique I wanted to try.

Stamp image in black then with a stamp positioner, re-stamp with versa mark. then with chalks go over the black. wow it really pops who would have thought.

If you get to issaquah, WA check out their store its huge and amazing. But hurry rumor has it that by the end of may next year if they don't get a buyer they may close. I really hope this is a rumor but I have heard it from 2 people now. I live on the other side of the state so whenever I head that way it is a MUST place to stop.

super mom

Love this stamp. I did this card for another Gina K challenge on split coast stampers. colored her with some spica glitter pens. sponged the background with stars. even added ink to my ribbon something I rarely do. I wasn't very happy with using gold stars but couldn't find anything else that I liked.

inspiration

I went to the quilt show recently and thought I would post a few amazing quilts that could really inspire someone in their stamping

this first one is a stained glass quilt. does it not look like real stained glass. amazing way the colors look like penciled in color on a coloring page but yet it comes together beautifully.

The color wheel. now how clever of a quilt is that. we use this every time we create whether we realize it or not. by adding some beads and embroidery it comes to life.

Lastly this leaf quilt. basically all one color RUSH. but the second picture is a little closer look to show all the detail. the beads, embroidery, silk leaves you name it. its all about the details isn't it??

moonlight fairies

not the best photo serves me right for clicking it and running out the door to mail it off with out checking it first. oh well life goes on.

Stamps are by close to my heart. I embossed in black then colored with stampin up markers. then punched out a circle and used the excess to sponge the moon. then sponged the moons rays onto the other fairy. then put the circle on the moon as a mask and sponged dark blue on the rest of the atc.

spring waterfall card

well I know this card has a coupe problems one the ribbon YUCK but I didn't have anything else close enough to match it. I normally don't work in these colors I am more of fall/winter kind of color person. so it was a challenge. the card itself was a challenge mechanical cards aren't my thing either.

All the stamps are by penguin Pants Rubber stamps

I used some gel pens with a bit of sparkle in them to color the images. You cant see that to well in the pictures but oh well.

Saturday I went to the quilt show and took a few pictures that I think will inspire some of you and hope to post those tomorrow.

snowflakes, leaves and halloween

went to a Penguin Pants Rubber stamps class and made some really cool projects. the above is the outside view of a trifold card. who would have thought that a brown snowflake could look sooo good.

The inside is even pretty.

I love trees and leaves so this card was great. stamped in various colors of adriondak pads then water brushed over them. Add a vellum embossed leave and some brads and its gorgeous.

this is the card opened. MAn was this tooo cool to make. lots of little pieces but worth it. there is so much detail in each panel i took a couple extra pictures of it.

the card folded and ready to ship in a regular envelope. they have some great stamps I always love taking their classes.
